Year-round USDA Certified Organic
Produce at our Farm Stand at the Farm Wednesdays and Saturdays 9 AM to 1 PM.
A mere two and one-half miles east of Downtown, Boggy Creek Farm is located in Central East Austin. For directions, click on Map to the Farm. Every Wednesday and Saturday, from 9 AM to 1 PM, we hold a farm stand market under the massive live oak tree. Labor intensive items (like salad mixes) are harvested the morning prior, but a lot of the produce is picked fresh that very morning, and to guarantee freshness to late-arriving customers, the harvest continues all morning long (or until heat or low humidity compromises quality.) Some items, such as garlic and onions, are usually harvested at one time period and stored, and are available as long as supplies last.

While much of the produce is grown at the Farm in East Austin, we grow a lot of space-hogging varieties, such as hard squashes, tomatoes and potatoes, at our Milam County Farm, 75 miles northeast of Austin. Produce grown there is typically harvested the morning before market day. Contrast this time frame with the typical two-week age of super market produce. To us, freshness (nutritious) equals the importance of organic.

By shopping at the Farm, you will get a good idea of what is seasonally available in Central Texas. Since we, like many of our "Friends of the Farm," eat only what is available fresh from the field, we grow a wide variety of vegetables and greens, to ensure an interesting and balanced diet. Eating seasonally, while, at first glance seeming to be restrictive, in fact encourages trying new and unusual foods. And while we may eventually tire of eggplant (after all, it's steadfastly available June through October), by the next spring, we anticipate it eagerly. Waiting patiently and then eating our fill of the fruits of the moment is a very natural process and in tune with the environment. And over the year, we do eat a very varied diet.
To complement the fresh organic produce, we also sell quality products produced by other local farms, dairies and companies:
*Pure Luck Organics' award-winning goat milk Chevres and Feta cheeses
*Wateroak Farms' delicious goat milk Ice Cream (tastes like "homemade"!), Ricotta cheese, and Yogurt
*White Mountain's fresh, organic Tofu
*Miles of Chocolate (a cross between a brownie and a truffle)
*Alexander Family Farm's Grass-fed Beef, full of omega-3 fatty acids; Free-range Bison from Thunder Heart, in the South Texas Brush Country; and Loncito's Lamb from Twin Oaks Ranch in Dinero, TX.
*Richard's RainWater...from the clouds over Dripping Springs!
*To supplement our own Hen House Eggs, we also carry Louis Young's "Tesoro Tierra" free-range eggs.
*Sweetish Hill Bakery delivers freshly made Breads for each Saturday market day.
And of course we have, in season, Larry's Smoke-dried Tomatoes -- made from our own organically-grown tomatoes.
Also, the Farm's books "Eating in Season: Recipes from Boggy Creek Farm" and "Stories from the Hen House."
As you drive down our bumpy driveway, you'll see the Farm Stand, with tables of produce set up under the tomato shed and eggs and condiments inside the old barn. We accept cash and checks for produce payment. Parking is available on the Farm.
*We are sorry to exclude dogs, but we have a lot of young visitors and we cannot risk their safety. Also, frequently, a few pet chickens will be roaming about. Dogs are not compatible with chickens! (We know this by vast experience!)**Cigarette smoke may infect our
