Two different tours are available;

take your pick or partake in both

 ~Farm Tour~

Walk the grounds of this sustainable, regenerative, no-till urban farm learning about the history, the trials, tribulations, triumphs, our farming techniques and how we differ from other farms. You may even get to taste something freshly harvested from the field!

* Farm Tours for children*

(content will vary dependent on age, interest & cooperation)

Walking the grounds of beautiful historic Boggy Creek Farm 

  • Children will be introduced to what plants need to grow,  to produce fruit and to reproduce (photosynthesis, nutrients, composting, pollinators, weather, etc). 

  • Discuss pests, plant defenses.

  • Walk the field to see what's growing & look for pollinators.

  • Peek inside & learn about the green house & hoop houses.

  • Walk through the farm stand to see where our harvest meets the customer.

  • Discuss the importance of eating fresh foods. 

  • Visit the giant compost piles & learn the secret ingredient!

  • Be a farmer; plant your own seed.

  • Visit the hens, learn some fun chicken facts & feed them some farm veggies.

  • Afterwards groups may choose to have a picnic on a tarp in front of the historic farmhouse. We always have a great time!

~Historic Home Tour~

Take a step back in time as you are guided through the old farm house hearing about the architecture, drama, and the pioneers who built this old home in 1840/41. Hear stories of what life was like for the pioneers through letters they left behind, learn of the dignitaries who spent time here and other interesting facts that make this home so special.

 

*The Historic Home Tour is suitable for adults of all ages who are interested in architecture and history

There is a charge for guided tours (self-guided tours are free)

Typically, each tour lasts about an hour.

Your Choice of Tours:  1 hour w/ guide

    Farm or  Historic Home:   $10 per person

*** minimum charge of $100 per tour

(example, for only 5 people, the charge is $100)

Additional persons over 10 will be $10 each.

The FULL Experience:  2 hours w/ guide 

Farm Historic Home :   $20 per person.

***minimum charge of $200 for up to 10 persons.

Additional persons over the first 10, $20 each. 

Free Tours? 

From time to time we host events at the farm and provide docent led tours of the historic farm house (1840/1841) as well as guided tours of this unique regenerative

urban farm.  

These events will be posted on our social media pages (Facebook & Instagram) as well as on this website under 'Events'. 

 

~In October we offer docent led tours of the old farm house during the annual 

Green Corn Project Festival

We hope you will join us next year for the food, drink, music, festivities and for the tour! ~

Self-Guided Tours of the Grounds (Farm House NOT open for self-guided tours):

On Market Days (Wed, Thurs, Fri, Saturday) we are open from 8 AM to 1 PM.

 

Individuals and families are welcome to walk around the farm, see the crops, the compost area, the chickens, etc., free of charge.

 

*The house is not open for self-guided tours; it is our home.

*Please do not allow children to chase the chickens or Buddy, the farm dog.

*Entry into the chicken coop, climbing onto tractors, wood and bricks are all prohibited.  

*This is not a 'pick your own' farm; please do not harvest crops or enter the growing fields.

*Stay on open paths & respect the working farmers and customers.

Come out, take a step back in time; enjoy the grounds, shop the farm stand!
