Tour Historic Boggy Creek Farm

Free Tours?

From time to time we host events at the farm and provide docent led tours of the historic farm house (1840/1841) as well as guided tours of this unique regenerative

urban farm.

These events will be posted on our social media pages (Facebook & Instagram) as well as on this website under 'Events'.

~In October 2019, for the first time, we offered docent led tours of the old farm house during the 21st annual Green Corn Project Festival. It was a big hit!

We hope you will join us next year for the food, drink, music, festivities and for the tour! ~

Guided Tours:

Two different tours are available, take your pick or partake in both:

  • Field and Farm Tour: walk the grounds of this regenerative,  no-till farm learning about the history, the trials, tribulations, triumphs, our farming techniques and how we differ from other farms. You may even get to taste something freshly harvested from the field!

  • Tours for young children: Learn what plants need to grow, be on the look out for pollinators, sit on the porch of the historic home to hear a story and have a photo op. Walk through the farm stand to see where our harvest meets the customer.  Learn fun chicken facts and spend time feeding them. Walk the field to see what's growing, peek inside the green house & hoop houses, visit the giant compost piles & learn the secret ingredient! Be a farmer; plant your own seed. Afterwards have a picnic on a tarp in front of the historic home. Always a great time!

  • Historic Home Tour: take a step back in time as you are guided through the old farm house hearing about the architecture, drama, and the pioneers who built this old home in 1840/41. Hear stories of what life was like for the pioneers through letters they left behind, learn of the dignitaries who spent time here and other interesting facts that make this home so special.

*The Historic Home Tour is suitable for adults of all ages who are interested in architecture and history

Self-Guided Tours of the Grounds:

On Market Days (Wed, Thurs, Fri, Saturday) we are open from 8 AM to 1 PM.

Individuals and families are welcome to walk around the farm, see the crops, the compost area, the chickens, etc., free of charge.

*The house is not open for self-guided tours; it is our home.

*Please do not allow children to chase the chickens or Buddy, the farm dog.

*Entry into the chicken coop, climbing onto tractors, wood and bricks are all prohibited.

*This is not a 'pick your own' farm; please do not harvest crops or enter the growing fields.

*Stay on open paths & respect the working farmers and customers.

Come out, take a step back in time; enjoy the grounds, shop the farm stand!

We hope to see you soon!
