Dog-Trot Staycation | Vacation | Rental on Historic Boggy Creek Farm
We welcome you to enjoy a very unique getaway experience at Austin's Original Urban Farm. Think Agritourism w/ fine accommodations on this beautiful 5 acre working farm! A great place to spend a month or two while visiting family, doing business, perfect for a writer's retreat, visitors of the University of Texas such as researchers, professors, etc.; all will enjoy unwinding at this East Austin Gem.

Located in the heart of Central East Austin, we are just 3 miles southeast of the University of Texas, 3 miles east of the state capitol & downtown and 5 miles west of Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
Our Texas-style Dog-Trot duplex was inspired by the 1844 home of Anson Jones, the last President of the Republic of Texas.

The Trot was beautifully built by our beloved Larry Butler, and his talented friends. They salvaged and milled a great deal of wood from trees damaged during the 2011 Bastrop fires as well as trees lost due to severe drought the same year at our other farm in Milam County. This beautiful wood can be seen throughout the house.
The house is dressed w/ long front and back porches and a wide breezeway that separates the two units. Each unit boasts two bedrooms w/ generous closets & queen beds, full bathroom w/ shower (no tub), fully equipped kitchen, pantry & full-sized refrigerator. The kitchen is open to the living room. Other amenities include full-sized washing machine/dryer, Wifi, TV w/ ROKU, Parking on the property and more.
Imagine a more simple time as you enjoy a cup of coffee or shell pecans while rocking on the porch. Watch the farmers work in the field and harvest for the market which is held at the on-site farmstand W | TH | F | S, 8am-1pm.
Explore the grounds, visit the chickens who live their entire lives happily on the farm. See the original farmhouse, built over the winter of 1840/1841. Sam Houston, first President of the Republic of Texas, was a guest here at a wedding supper in 1841 during his second term.

East Austin is where the action is and it is loaded with amazing restaurants and bars. We are happy to offer suggestions. Many of Austin's top chefs shop at our farm stand regularly!
